Sami ice axe

This is an ice-axe from Lapland (or Sapmi), which is inhabited by the Sami people. The blade is decorated with fine incised patterns. The whole tool is light enough to be carried between the index finger and thumb, making it an ideal piece of equipment for carrying on long treks.
