dancer: McKay, Annie · Cumbernauld, Scotland · Annie was the All-Scotland champion in the 1980s and the first Scottish dancer to win an All-Ireland championship. Annie was tragically killed in an accident while competing in Ireland in the mid-1990s. She had recently been accepted to dance in Michael Flatley's Riverdance World Tour. The donor, who was brought up in Easterhouse and Coatbridge, knew Annie as a fellow dancer. Her grandfather worked as a welder with Annie's late father, Charlie McKay, many years ago.
