Radial Drilling Machine, 1970s

This is one of a pair of mobile drilling machines that were used in the Coatbridge engineering works of Murray and Paterson.

Although only dating from the 1970s these drills replaced an earlier pair of mobile drills. These would be used where it was easier to bring the drill to the workpiece rather than move the workpiece itself.
