Stanrigg Colliery Disaster Relief Fund Subscription Form, around 1918

On the 9th of July that year after two weeks of heavy rain a deluge of wet peat broke into the mine workings killing 19, including two 14 year old boys. Only 8 of the bodies were recovered.
